Week 4 - Creating a Google Ad
In an earlier post, I shared how to set-up a google domain and website. Super easy!
In order to get traffic to my new site, I will create a google ad to my site: www.viscomarketingconsulting.com.
Step 1: Visit Google Ad site: www.ads.google.com.
Step 2: You will click the blue button for new campaign.
Step 3: Enter the name of your business - click next. Then enter the website they will be taken to - click next.
Step 4: What is your advertising goal? I chose more website sales or sign-ups . You can choose what you wish. When you click next, you will be taken to the website you want your potential customers to visit, and click next.
Step 6: Setting up your analytics on your website. Of the two options to add to your website, I chose Option 1. I copied the link and then went to my website www.viscomarketingconsulting.com. Under the settings you click analytics and paste the code provided by google ads.
Step 7: After you click next, you are taken to the options of what pages you wish to track on your website. I chose to track my contact page. You click on "add destination goal" and you are prompted to enter the website page. In this case mine is www.viscomarketingconsulting.com/contact. You then click accept and then next.
Step 8: Writing your ad! Fill in the boxes with what you want the ad to read. Be careful, there are character limits in each box. Click next.
Step 9: After setting up analytics, you now get to choose your ad keywords. You can add and delete as you wish. Click next.
Step 10: Next you need to pick where you want your ad to show. As seen below, I chose my zip code and my state. Click next.
Step 11: Choose your budge. Since this is for class, I started with an extremely low budge, $4 a day. I wanted to stay at $40 budget, so I will be able to run this ad for 10 days. Click next.
Step 11: Review your ad and make sure it looks all good and click next.
Step 12: You are then finished. I currently have my ad paused, because I will run it on certain dates, but below is how the screen will look when you are all finished.
