Week 3 - Surfing the Tsunami

Artificial intelligence needs to be considered and not ignored. Be a realist.  Artificial intelligence is a part of life and will become increasingly involved with your daily interactions.  When analyzing the data you may want to ask yourself a few questions -

1. Based on teh data, do you think it's possible to impact of artificial intelligence may be larger and more rapid than the impact from past technologies?
2. Would you agree that everyone should take some form of action, such as adapting and learning more about artificial intelligence?
3. If you are convinced you should take action, do you think it should be private or should you go public to convince others to take artificial intelligence seriously?

Once artificial intelligence is taken seriously, one can start to learn the impact the data has on the future.  The future of job growth and the impact of having safety nets.  Artificial intelligence can disrupt the future and economy.

A good example of artificial intelligence and how it impacts jobs is occurring at my place of employment.  I am a nurse.  How is nursing going to be taken over by artificial intelligence?  Meet Moxi.

Moxi is real.  My organization has now introduced Moxi to the staff.  Moxi is able to assist nurses with busy work tasks and respond to call lights!  Moxi has social intelligence, a robot arm that can grip and can interact with patients.  They are also integrated into the patient's records. This is the way of the future, what will be thought of next?
